Mike Guarino is a native Long Island artist. Mike's love for photography began in high school, where he discovered the thrill of image making. Mike went on to study Fine Art Photography at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), and today continues to work as a professional photographer and web designer.

 

 

Originally working in traditional photography, over the years Mike's work has become more three dimensional and fragmented, evolving into collage and sculpture by incorporating photographs, objects and visual fragments from decades of making photographs. An artist who works in a variety of mediums, there's no one way to describe his art work.

 

"If I had to define a common thread in my work, I would describe it as creating a sort of defined chaos, trying to make visual order to chaotic ideas. Today, more than ever, in our high tech, digital society, visual art needs to be tactile, unpolished and unmanufactured."
